The jobs are there, Michigan Works! of Kent and Allegan Counties says applicants should join them at the M-TEC on Godfrey SW in Grand Rapids this afternoon.
Spokeswoman Jane Kreha with the workforce development organization told WOOD Radio there will be around 100 positions available as the manufacturers of this area and others seek help. "We also have some service agencies and manufacturers still need some administrators. We have some management positions open." A total of 20 companies have positions offered.
Though the Job Fair begins at 3 this afternoon, Kreha suggests you head to their website and Facebook page can connect job seekers to their list of employers. "Click on the icon, it will take them to their page. Then, they can check out jobs that they have available and learn a little more about the company, where they're located, what their culture's like."
Finally, Kreha calls for a commitment from the job seeker to increase their chance of success. "Bring lots of copies of your resume, business cards if you have them. Just be enthusiastic. Show them that you want the job." That includes dressing to impress, even if the work is in manufacturing.
