Wyoming's City Council will go through the formalities Monday night and appoint a committee to consider revoking the business license of a 44th Street SW bar and restaurant.
Information from the council agenda said Tuesday, the owner of "Time Out-Grand Rapids", now known as the Monterrey Grill learned their expired business license was suspended effective immediately. City Manager Curtis Holt told WOOD Radio there was a string of violent and criminal incidents that prompted the Department of Public Safety to act. "We've had several meetings with them to talk about things they need to do to make their business better, it seems they've just ignored those." There were six reports of shots fired over a six month, one day period closing on March 22nd. The Police department made three arrests that night in the parking lot for Minor in Possession, Possession of Cocaine, Disorderly Conduct and another warrant.
Holt said the shooting incidents have not lead to injuries but "it is in a pretty populated area (west of Burlingame) and who knows what could happen there with the types of incidents that we're seeing." An owner of the bar was sent a certified letter noting the sections of City Code prompting the revocation process for their business license.
