Green parking in Grand Rapids. Several groups took over parking spaces, downtown, Friday as part of a global event, National Park(ing) Day, turning those parking spaces into little parks.
The idea is to create more green and less concrete.
These groups paid the $10 it costs for a meter hood , so they could put sod down and maybe a lawn chair and umbrella and deprive a car of a parking spot for the day.
